Why I don't like reading. (Kind of)
Don't get me wrong, I just don't like to read CERTAIN things including the following:
-Fiction (maybe some horror depending on how interesting it is)
-US history (and other countries)
-science textbooks
-algebra textbooks (my brain can't handle this stuff)
-ELA textbooks (everyone is gonna know what I mean whether I say "me and him" or "him and I" anyway, so I don't see the point. Plus, why does my grammar teacher keep calling me and idiom?)
-textbooky textbooks (ugh these ones)
-textbooks (you get the point)
-nutrition labels (lol)
-clothing tags (too much work, why is a size 7 in women's different in men's? I mean, I feel like it would just be easier to have 1-etc so you knew the EXACT size. Yeah moving on past this rant.....)
-instructions (I don't need them MUHAHAHAHAHA)
-THE COMMENTS ON YOUTUBE, PINTEREST, AND ETC; ARE JUST RIDICULOUS, PEOPLE ARGUE TOO MUCH IT MAKES ME MAD.
-Romeo and Juliet (blech)
-recipes
-closed captions (they block the lower screen, and are just in the way.)
-this could go on for ever so: etc;
Stuff I do like to read and why:
-The Bible
It's interesting to me, and there is a ton of good stuff in it.
-Peoples views on the Bible.
I like to see people's views, and then look at what the Bible says about said persons views, to see if it actually is what is written.
-Apologetics books are just plain good info to have, because we are supposed to share the gospel so why would we not want to learn about how to first? I also think it is is good to read up on other religions since it helps to realize the flaws in them, compared to Christianity.
- about the end times
But I also think you shouldn't be the planning committee, and instead you should be the welcoming committee. In other words don't get so caught up in the details you completely forget to be ready for it. (See the 10 virgins parable, Matthew 25.)
To the point, yes, knowledge listed in the "don't care for" section above is important to have, and you need it for jobs and basic every day activities, But we all have a bigger job too. I would rather spend my time studying about God, than a random explorer who crossed the sea 50 hundred times, Romeo and Juliet, or an excessively hungry catapillar. In conclusion, I like to read, and I have absolutely nothing against people liking to read. I just prefer biblical literature over Pete the cat, and Apologetic books over Pippi Longstockings.
